Lothar Chan, P.Eng.
Intermediate III Geotechnical Engineer
Lothar Chan has over 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He graduated in Civil Engineering from University of British Columbia in 2002. Since joining MEG Consulting Ltd. in 2003, Lothar has worked in both the design office and field environments, as well as participating in static and advanced dynamic laboratory testing. His experience primarily relates to geotechnical design of civil and industrial infrastructures. He has been involved in many engineering projects performing field investigation coordination/supervision, geotechnical characterization and foundation design for highway construction, bridge foundation, railway, offshore platforms and terminal facilities. His work has been focused primarily on earthquake engineering, ground improvement and pile foundation.
Lothar is a Professional Engineer registered in British Columbia, Canada. He has been involved in projects located in Canada along with other international projects in USA, Russia, Mexico, Peru and Columbia. He is familiar with local and international design codes and procedures such as CFEM, NBCC, API, AASHTO, CAN/CSA, ASTM.
Lothar has published several papers related to interesting aspects of geotechnical response as determined during various consulting assignments.
