The 46th annual Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala, held on October 23, 2014 in Ottawa, celebrated engineering excellence in the form of ingenious building design, innovative transportation solutions, inspired environmental remediation and much more. The awards showcase consulting engineers’ ability to shape our world.

The Award of Excellence in the Transportation Category, went to H5M (a Joint Venture by Hatch Mott MacDonald Ltd. and MMM Group) for their onshore works on the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project. MEG Consulting Limited was the geotechnical sub-consultant to H5M for the Cape Horn (Central) Segment. The PMH1 project is substantially completed with the official opening date of December 31, 2014.

 The 25th annual Awards for Engineering Excellence Gala, held on April 12, 2014 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, honoured the innovation and technical excellence of member firms of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies in British Columbia (ACEC-BC).
The premier award of the evening, the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Engineering Excellence, went to H5M (a Joint Venture by Hatch Mott MacDonald Ltd. and MMM Group) for their onshore works on the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project. H5M was also won the Award of Excellence in the Transportation Division. MEG Consulting Limited was the geotechnical sub-consultant to H5M for the Cape Horn (Central) Segment.  The Trans-Canada Highway 1, between Vancouver and Langley, is Metro Vancouver’s busiest transportation corridor.

H5M was nominated for the Deputy Minister’s Consultant Awards to recognize Excellence in the Design and Contract Preparation – Roads Category for the Cape Horn Interchange Design which forms part of the Port Mann Highway 1 Upgrade project (PMH1).  H5M is formed by Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) and MMM Group and provided design services to the constructor’s joint venture of Kiewit-Flatiron.  MEG Consulting Limited was the geotechnical sub-consultant to H5M for the Cape Horn (Central) Segment.
The awards were celebrated at the Association of Engineering Companies Annual Transportation Conference held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Vancouver Hyatt Regency on Burrard Street.

As a new member of the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA), MEG Consulting Limited was featured, in the Q4 2013 issue of PileDriver magazine (Vol. 10 No. 4). The member- profile article (engineering) summarizes some recent experience related to local British Columbia projects which involved contributions to the analysis, design, and installation of pile foundations.
