Introduction
to MEG Data Management System
MEG has developed an effective data
management system for the control and review of
geotechnical information obtained from field
or laboratory testing. The principal objective of
this QA/QC process is to satisfy clients requirements such as
accuracy, consistency and time efficiency in the
management of geotechnical data.
To meet
specific project requirements MEG has
implemented and designed a database system and
specific in-house programs to simplify the
capture, storage, and organization of all types of
geotechnical data. The data management process
also permits the integration and correlation of raw data
from
both field
and laboratory testing.
Data
Services
MEG Consulting can design
and develop a comprehensive Web Database
Application specifically for particular project
needs. The Web Database Application is built in three parts: Database Inventory Browser, Web
Access Administrator Panel and the main Web Map
Application. The application is based on the idea
that the easiest way for a user to query and extract
data is through the Map interface. Some of the
benefits associated with a relational database
are:
| |
» Web-Map
database application provides easy, quick and
reliable data access at any time from any
location.
» Organized browsing, retrieval and
comparison of data.
» Correlation and extrapolation of existing data to
perform conceptual studies for new sites.
» Search results are incorporated as a set of
interconnected GIS layers, showing all
information/data/documents/figures currently
stored as files in the corresponding folders that
can be geo-referenced.
