MEG Consulting Limited was established in the mid 90’s with the objective of providing geotechnical expertise to onshore/offshore infrastructure and oil and gas projects around the world. The company comprises about 11 permanent and contract staff working out of the main office in Richmond, BC and from project offices in different parts of the world where we can offer a blend of experience and qualifications suitable for a wide range of geoscience projects. MEG has also developed a series of working agreements with specialist consultants and contractors to provide additional expertise where necessary. MEG is able to provide a wide range of services that cover the usual scope of geotechnical contracts from feasibility studies through to final design.

Recent projects have been completed in US Gulf of Mexico, Venezuela, Mexico and Russia. In association with Foundex Explorations Limited, MEG has recently completed a geotechnical investigation for 49 offshore platform sites in the Gulf of Mexico for Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).

In 2003, two new ventures were set up. MEG Technical Services (MTS) was established to provide a geotechnical testing option for external clients and to satisfy in-house specific project needs. Apart from the usual array of standard geotechnical laboratory testing equipment, MTS is able to perform sophisticated dynamic/cyclic testing programms by means of two fully automated high pressure resonant column devices and a cyclic simple shear apparatus.

An alliance was entered into with Corporación GIS, CA (GISCA) a geotechnical consultant based in Caracas to provide an operations base for work with the national and international oil companies and engineering consultants in Venezuela. Through its professional staff, MEG has extensive experience and local knowledge of the Venezuelan market and hopes to develop these contacts further in the coming years.
